new york city, and washington DC

top of the rockafeller center

emily and sarah in the new york skyline- they deserve to be a part of it much more than some of the monstrosities.

homeless people inspire me deeply, each one must have a story about how they came to be how they are, and about how they manage to keep themselves alive- i want to go back to new york and talk to more of them, photograph them, make the world see the beauty i see in these people.

this was matt, our tour guide - he was so charismatic and confident, and he knew so much about the city - a true new yorker.
when we went to the site of the world trade center, he gave such a moving speech that members of the crowd who weren't even with our party were hysterical. it was shocking to hear how close he was to everything.

above is a photo of cara and i beside him. i will never forget the man who first showed me new york city.

the washington warmth shone in through the coach window through lucy's curls.

this man was so dedicated to his culture and origin, it made me smile.

emily, myself, and the tour guides.

this woman in washington and he 3 month old baby were sat soaking in the sticky humidity; there was something inspiring about them, the same for every other one of the hundreds of groups of people in the park in washington. each one must have had a reason to be there.

new york city and washington - one of the single greatest trips of my life. we went as a school ground and i learnt so much about myself, and the things which inspire me, as well as so much about the culture and way of life of others (americans) - it was incredible.

unforgettable, in every sense of the word, but here are some snapshots to provoke memories. i have several hundred more, but i want to keep them to myself - many of them show my own obscure vision of beauty.

keep dreaming,

-b
