kingfisher caravan park

what a busy couple of months. since my last post i've started college, met some amazing people, taken some not enough photos, but now i'm back! and no plans to take another leave of absence again any time soon.

this weekend began on the last day of term 2011; we got the long train down to fareham to stay with our friend abby in her caravan while her house was renovated. as predicted, it was a crazy weekend, once which i'm glad i had my camera for.

between being kicked out of a cathedral, getting lost in portsmouth, walking 3 miles to and from the ferry, a tiny dispute with abby's mother, and the arrival of hannah, we mainly just chilled out, drank good wine (well, some of us), and celebrated a few weeks of freedom. don't get me wrong, the freedom at college is brilliant, but it was nice to not have to worry about early mornings.

living with my friends was far more fun than i imagined, and now that we've just booked our holiday to my parent's place in spain this summer, i can't wait to do it all over again.

free spirited

sometimes in life, you find people you simply know are going to go far. allow me to introduce you to my friend cara crowcombe. a free-spirit by anyone's definition, every time i have a conversation with her, i either feel i've come out of it knowing much more than when i went in, or i fall about laughing and leave with a smile plastered to my face. she completely oozes talent and just being around her is inspiring. last night she came for a catch up dinner at my house, and we took a walk as the sun set. here are some, photos that came out of the time we spent; everyone knows a picture speaks a thousand words, so here she is, cara crowcombe.

and finally i leave you with one of her incredible drawings, which also happens to be my drawing.

royal wedding

after going back to school, despite people's best efforts, i'm still unphased by the prospect of upcoming exams; what's the point in wasting away life worrying about them?

we had an extra long weekend here in the uk due to a royal wedding (somewhat ridiculous but i'm not complaining) and like the rest of the population, we took the opportunity to party. went to 3, actually, and after a few vodkas too many, i ended up at my friend's street party, where there was so so much amazing food, as far as the eye could see. i ate so much, and then talked the night away with him and his girlfriend, and his older sister and her boyfriend, all of whom i'm very fond of. definitely can't wait for holiday this year with him.

here are some snapshots from the last few days, remember that life is for living, and you'll never accomplish that if you're always worrying about what's to come.

look book - emma wilson

today, i did my first look book shoot! i took these photos for my incredibly talented friend EMMA WILSON (remember her name) who is a beast with a sewing machine. chantelle wilson (not related) modelled them for us today and i really enjoyed shooting for a purpose! although i'm not too pleased with the photos, it was a chance to experiment with colours and styles, and also a chance to work for a different purpose.

it was incredibly warm and i want to thank emma and chantelle for putting up with my whining about the heat, and also the vast collection of insects which decided to help on the shoot. thank you guys!

(a REAL experiment!)

fairies

models: sammie, becky and sophie

this was a fun shoot i did for an old friend who got in contact, asking for some photos for her art degree; of course i wanted to get involved, and here's what we came up with, some fairy themed photos for her fashion promotion course!

there's an exhibition scheduled for what she comes up with from the photos in a few weeks time, and i'm really excited- my very first (of hopefully many!) art exhibition! i'll definitely post some photos when i can.

with regards to what i've got coming up, i'll be shooting a lookbook for one of my close friends emma, with a gorgeous model, and i'll be taking some more photos of ffion as soon as i can, along with another model i scouted a few weeks ago! i get over my illness and suddenly i'm inspired to work work work! hope you're all well.
